Communication Server Features

- Deployed over any (TCP/IP) network (Internet/Intranet)
- Handles unlimited number of simultaneous connections (Configurable feature)
- Provides three levels of security:
- Encrypted communication between the billing system and the server
- Authorization for clients with specific IP addresses/Host names
- Authorization for clients with valid authorized keys
- Keeps a log of:
- Client command activities
- Client connections/disconnections (Authorized/Unauthorized) connections
- Current active clients
- Check the client connections in case of abnormal client termination, bad network connection, etc
- Provides four types of command handling:
- Immediately
- Manually by server administrator
- Timer-controlled (Send the commands received at every pre-determined interval)
- Counter-controlled (Send the commands received when the number reaches a specific count)
- Runs as desktop application (Win 9x/me) or as an interactive service (Win NT/2000)
- Activity command log can be filtered for reporting & printing. For example:
- Filter all commands with error message from the switch
- Filter all commands sent from a specific station
- Filter all commands sent from a specific user
- Filter all commands sent for a specific pager number
- Filter all commands sent before or after a specific Date and Time
- Send an instant message to any client or set of selected clients
- Accepts blocking/unblocking (synchronous/asynchronous) connections
- On demand connections between the F5Solution software and the server. Whenever a command is sent by F5Solution system, connects automatically to the server, sends the command, and then drops the connection. This is useful if you connect over the internet
- On demand connections between the server and the switch
- In case of hardware failure, the server can be configured to retry sending the command on pre-determined time intervals and for pre-determined count of retry attempts
- Sends the client a confirmation of success or failure of commands
- Customized switch fields to handle different versions of the switch software
- Customized switch error messages to be more users friendly
- Unlimited number of switch templates can be defined to expand the billing software capabilities
- Test your switch by typing through a command line interface
- Export switch database to a text file for backup or for reconciliation with the F5Solution database
- Timed-out idle switch and client connections
